Food Bank Collection

On Sunday, April 25th, University UMC did something they have never done before - at least not during worship! I challenged every person in worship that morning to get up out of their seat and go to their home or go to the store and collect food for the WF Food Bank. It was amazing to see everyone run out of the sanctuary and head to their cars! It was great to hear about the lines at Albertson's and Wal-Mart being stacked deep with UUMC folks! It was great to see smiling faces returning breathless from a quick trip to the store for a good cause.

I am so proud of everyone for pitching in as they saw fit. Several of us will take the food to the Food Bank Tuesday morning to have it weighed and counted toward our church's giving. I'll post the total weight here when I have it.

Remember, I gave you 30 minutes to change the world through a food donation. I hope that those 30 minutes also changed your perspective on what it means to put your faith into action.
